Terms of Service — End User
Last updated: 5 juin 2026
These End User Terms of Service govern the use of the payment orchestration platform provided by Wajub UK Ltd when you, as an end customer, make a payment on a merchant platform using Wajub technology. Your direct contractual relationship is with the merchant from whom you make your purchase. Wajub acts as the technical provider to that merchant.
Article 1 — Definitions
Strong Authentication: verification mechanism based on at least two independent elements (3D Secure). End Customer (or User): person who initiates a payment via Wajub. Merchant: person from whom you make a purchase and who uses Wajub. Personal Data: any information enabling your identification. Dispute: procedure by which you contest a transaction. Payment Token: secure identifier replacing your payment details. Provider: Wajub payment partner (mobile money operator, card acquirer, etc.).
Article 2 — Purpose and scope
These TOS define the terms under which Wajub provides its payment orchestration infrastructure. They apply to any use of the platform, regardless of the payment method, device, country or amount. Wajub is not a party to the contractual relationship between you and the merchant. The sales contract is concluded directly between you and the merchant. Claims relating to purchased products or services must be addressed to the merchant.
Article 3 — Use of payment services
To make a payment, you must select the payment method, enter the required information, confirm the payment and, where applicable, complete strong authentication. Once the transaction has been processed, Wajub displays a confirmation and may send a notification. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. You undertake not to share your security codes, to use secure networks, and to check for the HTTPS padlock and the Wajub domain (pay.wajub.com).
Article 4 — Payment methods
Wajub supports: Mobile money (MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Wave, Airtel Money, M-Pesa, Moov, Express Union, InTouch, Free Money), cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, UnionPay), bank transfers (local and international). Wajub does not charge any fees to end customers. Fees may be applied by the merchant, the mobile money operator or the issuing bank.
Article 5 — Tokenisation and consent
Merchants may offer to save your payment information (tokenisation) to facilitate future purchases. Saving requires your explicit consent (checkbox or positive action). You may at any time view, delete or disable your saved payment methods from the merchant's interface. Tokens are stored securely by Wajub and cannot be used by another merchant.
Article 6 — Personal data protection
The data controller is the merchant from whom you make your purchase; Wajub acts as a technical processor. Wajub collects transaction data, payment data (method type, last 4 digits), technical data (IP, browser fingerprint), browsing data and approximate location. Data is retained in accordance with legal periods (transaction: 10 years, technical data: 1 year, cookies: 13 months maximum). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, exercisable with the merchant or at dpo@wajub.com.
Article 7 — Right of withdrawal and refunds
The right of withdrawal is governed by the legislation applicable to your contract with the merchant. For online purchases, you generally have 14 days from receipt of the product. For a commercial refund, contact the merchant. For an unauthorised transaction (fraud), immediately contact your mobile money operator or your bank. Refund times: mobile money within 24-48h, card within 5-10 working days, bank transfer within 2-5 working days.
Article 8 — Disputes and challenges
If you believe a transaction is fraudulent or unauthorised, contact the merchant, your mobile money operator or your bank, and notify Wajub at support@wajub.com. The card chargeback procedure is generally 120 days. Wajub encourages amicable resolution: contact the merchant's customer service, and if no agreement is reached within 30 days, contact Wajub who will facilitate communication. For users in France, Wajub adheres to the consumer mediation service.
Article 9 — Liability
Wajub endeavours to ensure the proper functioning of its infrastructure but cannot be held liable for delays attributable to Providers, scheduled maintenance interruptions, merchant decisions, acts of fraud committed by third parties, or force majeure events. You are solely responsible for the use of your payment method, the confidentiality of your authentication information, and the accuracy of the information provided.
Article 10 — General provisions
These End User TOS are governed by English law (England & Wales). For users in the EU, the mandatory provisions of the consumer law of their country of residence apply. For any complaint: support@wajub.com or help.wajub.com. Wajub reserves the right to modify these TOS; modifications are notified on the payment page.
