Wajub vs Moneroo

Wajub and Moneroo do the same job: one integration, several payment providers behind it. They differ on pricing, the number of gateways and what they say about failover during outages.

In short

Moneroo presents itself as a payment orchestration platform and states that it is not a payment service provider. You connect the gateways of your choice, Flutterwave, Paystack, pawaPay, CinetPay, Stripe and others, and collect through a single API.

Wajub works on the same principle. It lets you set the route for each payment with your priorities and your rules, sends a mobile money payment through another connection during an outage, and collects MTN MoMo and Orange Money in Cameroon with no provider contract, through the Wajub rail.

Point by point

What it is

Wajub

Payment orchestration layer: one API, several providers behind it. Not a payment institution.

Moneroo

Payment orchestration platform, "not a PSP" according to Moneroo.12

Who collects the funds

Your providers, on your own accounts, who pay you out under your contract. Wajub does not hold funds.

Payouts

Wajub

In Cameroon, on the Wajub rail: MTN MoMo, Orange Money and Express Union. Elsewhere, case by case: the team confirms which are available for your account.

Moneroo

Yes: 57 payout methods in 23 countries, according to its public API.6

Providers behind one integration

Wajub

If the gateway goes down

Wajub

A mobile money payment that fails moves automatically to the next connection, with nothing to redo on your side. A connection that fails repeatedly is set aside, then takes its place back as soon as it works again. Card payments are the exception: they stay with the provider the card was entered with.

Migrating from Moneroo to Wajub

  1. Create a Wajub account and validate the integration in the sandbox: payment creation, checkout, webhook.

  2. In the Dashboard, connect your accounts with the providers you were using, with their API keys: CinetPay, pawaPay, Flutterwave, Paystack, Stripe or others.

  3. Set your priorities and routing rules, then move your traffic over channel by channel.

Choose Moneroo if

  • Cost per transaction comes first: Moneroo publishes $0.01 per transaction, with no subscription.

  • You need a gateway Wajub does not connect, such as Hub2, PayTech or Qosic.

  • You want payouts in several countries today: Moneroo publishes 57 payout methods in 23 countries.

Choose Wajub if

  • You want to decide how each payment is routed: your priorities, your rules by country and channel, and automatic failover when a connection fails on a mobile money payment.

  • You want a route that keeps failing to step aside on its own, and to read back every decision in the routing log.

  • You sell in Cameroon without a provider contract: the Wajub rail collects MTN MoMo and Orange Money there.

  • Your developers work in Node.js, PHP, Python, Go, Ruby, Java or .NET: Wajub has an SDK for each.

Give your payments a backup route.
